Getting There

Walking
From the center of Gilgit, head towards the Gilgit River. Walk along the riverbank until you reach the bridge that crosses the river. Cross the bridge and continue straight on the main road. You'll be heading towards the Hunza Valley. Stay on this road, and you will eventually reach the town of Karimabad. Once you are in Karimabad, follow the signs towards Altit Fort, which is located about 15 to 20 minutes uphill walk from the main road. The fort will be on your left side as you approach.

Public Transport (Minibus)
From Gilgit, go to the main bus station located near the center of the city. Look for a minibus heading towards Karimabad (Hunza). The fare is usually quite affordable. The journey will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on road conditions. Once you arrive in Karimabad, ask the driver to drop you off at the main market area. From there, walk towards Altit Fort, which is a short uphill walk. Follow the signs, and you will find the fort on your left side.
