Walking
Start at the Gilgit city center. Head towards the main bazaar and look for the sign towards Hunza. Walk along the Karakoram Highway (KKH) towards Hunza, approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles). The walk will take you through stunning landscapes and local villages. Follow the KKH until you reach the town of Karimabad, which is the capital of Hunza. From there, you will see signs for Eagle's Nest. It is about a 30-minute walk from Karimabad to the Eagle's Nest Point.
Hiking
From Karimabad, take the trail that leads up to Eagle's Nest Point. This is a moderately steep hike that will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. The trail starts by passing through local orchards and then continues up the hill. Ensure you wear sturdy shoes and carry enough water. The view at the top is breathtaking, offering a panoramic view of the Ultar Sar and Rakaposhi mountains.
Local Transport
If you prefer not to walk the entire way, you can take a local jeep from Gilgit to Karimabad. From the jeep stand, you can find a shared jeep that will take you directly to Karimabad. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Karimabad, follow the walking directions to Eagle's Nest Point as described above.
