Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Peshawar. Take the N-55 National Highway towards Kohat. The drive will take approximately 2 hours (around 50 km). Once you reach Kohat, follow the signs leading to Shakardara. From Kohat, you will take the Kohat-Shakardara road. After about 15 km, you will arrive at Hukni, which is located near the Shakardara region. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited refueling stations on the route.
Public Transportation
To reach Hukni via public transportation, start at the Peshawar Bus Terminal where you can find buses heading to Kohat. The bus ride will take about 2 hours and the fare typically costs around PKR 200-300. Upon reaching Kohat, look for a local van or taxi that goes to Shakardara. The fare for this leg will be approximately PKR 100-150. Confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at Hukni, which is approximately 15 km from Kohat.
Local Transport (Taxi or Rickshaw)
Once you are in Kohat, you can hire a local taxi or rickshaw to take you directly to Hukni. The fare should be negotiated beforehand, but expect to pay around PKR 500-700 for the trip. The journey will take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the destination with the driver to ensure a smooth trip.
