Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the Karakoram Highway (N-35). Head towards Skardu, which is approximately 160 kilometers from the main highway. Follow the signs to Skardu and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Upon entering Skardu, look for the Chumik Road sign, which leads directly to Kharphocho Fort. The fort is located about 10 kilometers from the city center. You can park your car in the designated parking area near the fort.

Public Transportation
To reach Kharphocho Fort via public transport, take a bus from the Karakoram Highway to Skardu. Buses are available from major towns along the highway like Gilgit and Jaglot. Once you arrive in Skardu, you can hire a local taxi or take a rickshaw to Chumik Road, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the bus station. Negotiate the fare with the driver beforehand; it should cost around 500-800 PKR. The taxi will drop you near the fort entrance.

If you prefer to walk from the city center of Skardu to Kharphocho Fort, it is a hike of about 3 kilometers uphill. Follow Chumik Road, which is well-marked. The walk takes approximately 1 hour, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains as you make your way to the fort.
