Car
If you're traveling by car from Khunjerab Pass to Karimabad Bazar, start by heading south on the N-35 (Karakoram Highway). Continue driving for approximately 75 kilometers. You will pass through stunning landscapes and small villages along the way. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Karimabad. Once you reach the Hunza Valley, look for the signs pointing towards Karimabad. As you approach Karimabad, take the Fort Road which leads directly to the bazar. Parking is available near the bazar.
Public Transportation
To reach Karimabad Bazar via public transportation, you can take a bus or a shared taxi from the nearest major town, Sost, which is approximately 30 kilometers from Khunjerab Pass. Buses and shared taxis frequent the route from Sost to Karimabad. Once you arrive at the Karimabad bus station, Karimabad Bazar is just a short walk away. You can ask locals for directions if needed. The fare for the shared taxi is usually around PKR 200-300 per person.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can hike from the Hunza Valley area down to Karimabad Bazar. The distance is about 5 kilometers from the nearest drop-off point of public transport or parking area. The trail is well marked. It offers beautiful views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water with you, as it may take around 1-1.5 hours to walk depending on your pace.
