Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Besham, which is about 30 km away from Kormang. Head southeast on the KKH (Karakoram Highway) towards Battiara. After approximately 25 km, take a left turn onto the Kormang road and continue for another 5 km until you reach the vicinity of Battiara waterfall. Look for signs or ask locals for directions if needed. Parking is available near the waterfall.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus or shared van from Besham to Kormang. The fare is typically around 200 PKR. Once you reach Kormang, hire a local taxi or rickshaw to take you to the Battiara waterfall. This should cost you about 500-800 PKR, depending on your negotiation skills. Ensure to ask the driver to drop you off as close to the waterfall as possible.
Hiking
After reaching Kormang, if you choose to hike instead of taking a taxi, follow the trail that leads to the waterfall. The hike is about 3 km and takes approximately 1 hour. The terrain can be rocky, so wear appropriate footwear and carry water. Follow the sound of the waterfall to guide you as you approach your destination.
