Breathtaking Views at Passu Cones Viewpoint

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards the N-35 (Karakoram Highway). From Gilgit, this is roughly a 2-hour drive. Follow the signs for Hunza and continue until you reach the town of Passu. The Passu Cones Viewpoint is located just off the highway, approximately 15 minutes past the Passu village. There are clear signposts directing you towards the viewpoint. Make sure to park in the designated area near the viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Passu by public transport, take a bus or a shared van from Gilgit to Hunza Valley. The journey takes about 2-3 hours, and you will need to get off at Passu village. From there, you can either walk to the viewpoint, which is about a 30-minute hike, or hire a local taxi to take you directly to the viewpoint. Ensure to confirm the fare with the taxi driver before starting your journey.

• Taxi/Hired Car

  If you prefer a more direct route and convenience, you can hire a taxi from Gilgit to Passu. The cost may vary, but expect to pay around PKR 3000-4000 for a one-way trip. Once in Passu, the taxi can take you directly to the Passu Cones Viewpoint. Make arrangements with the driver for the return trip or to wait for you.

• Walking

  If you enjoy hiking and are staying in Passu, you can walk to the viewpoint. The trek from Passu village to the viewpoint is scenic but may take about 30-45 minutes. Ensure you have appropriate footwear and carry water, especially during the hotter months.
