Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Islamabad and head northwest on the M1 motorway. After about 30 km, take the exit towards the N-5 highway. Continue on N-5 for approximately 15 km until you reach the town of Pharwala. From Pharwala town, follow the local roads that lead directly to the fort, which is well-marked and approximately 5 km from the town center. Make sure to have a GPS or map app handy for precise navigation.
Public Transportation
To reach Pharwala Fort using public transport, take a Daewoo or Faisal Movers bus from Islamabad to Rawat. The fare is approximately PKR 300-500. From Rawat, you can find local shared vans or rickshaws heading towards Pharwala, which will cost around PKR 100-200. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Pharwala Fort. Once you arrive in Pharwala town, it is a short walk (about 5 km) to the fort. Alternatively, you can also hire a local taxi if you prefer a more direct route.
Walking
If you're already in Pharwala town and wish to walk to the fort, start from the main bazaar area. The fort is located about 5 km away, and the path is relatively straightforward. Head northeast on the main road, passing through local neighborhoods and fields. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Pharwala Fort, or ask locals for guidance along the way.
