Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Guna Yala, head towards the town of Cartí, which is the main entry point to the region. From Panama City, take the Pan-American Highway and follow the signs towards Colón. After reaching Colón, continue on the road that leads to Guna Yala. Look for signs indicating 'Cartí' as you approach the area. Upon arriving in Cartí, you need to park your vehicle at the designated parking area (there is typically a fee, around $5-10). From here, you will need to take a boat to Isla Diablo (Niadup).

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  You can take a bus from Panama City to Cartí. Head to the Albrook Bus Terminal and look for buses heading to 'Cartí' or 'Guna Yala.' The bus ride typically takes around 2-3 hours and costs approximately $5-$10. Once you arrive in Cartí, follow the same procedure as driving: park your bus (there is a parking fee) and take a boat to Isla Diablo (Niadup). The boat transfer usually costs around $10-20 per person and takes about 30 minutes.

• Boat Transfer

  Upon reaching Cartí, you must take a boat to Isla Diablo (Niadup). The boat departs from the main dock in Cartí. Confirm with the boat operator that you are heading to Isla Diablo. The boat ride will take approximately 30 minutes and usually costs between $10-20 per person. Be sure to negotiate the fare if necessary and check the schedule for the last return boats to ensure you don’t miss the return trip.
