Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the Pacific Coast, take the Pan-American Highway (Route 1) towards David. Once you reach the city of David, continue on Route 1 until you see signs for Volcán. Turn left onto Route 6. Follow the signs towards Volcán and continue for about 30 kilometers. You will pass through the towns of La Concepción and Volcán town. The entrance to the Volcán Barú National Park is located near the town of Volcán. There is a small entrance fee of around $3.00 per person, which you should be prepared to pay.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Volcán Barú using public transportation, take a bus from your location on the Pacific Coast to David. Buses frequently depart from major towns like Boquete or Alanje. Upon arriving in David, transfer to a bus heading to Volcán. The bus station in David is located on Avenida 1ra and is well-marked. The fare from David to Volcán is approximately $2.00. Once you arrive in Volcán town, you may need to take a taxi to the entrance of Volcán Barú National Park, which should cost around $5.00.

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from David or Volcán town to take you to the entrance of Volcán Barú National Park.
