Hiking
From the center of Volcán town, head west on Avenida 1ra Norte towards the main road (Pan-American Highway). Once you reach the highway, turn left and walk approximately 1.5 kilometers until you see the entrance to the Volcán Barú National Park on your right. This is a well-marked path leading into the park, where you can begin your hike to the summit. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as the hike can take several hours depending on your pace. The trail is steep, so be prepared for a challenging ascent.

Public Transport to Trailhead
From the central square in Volcán, look for local buses or shared taxis that head towards the town of Cerro Punta. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the entrance to Volcán Barú National Park. The ride should take about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the park entrance where you can pay the entrance fee and start your hike.
