Walking
From the center of Volcán, head south on Avenida 2 towards the intersection with Calle 1. Turn right onto Calle 1 and continue walking until you reach the main road, Avenida 4. Once there, turn left onto Avenida 4, which will take you out of the town. Keep walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the Volcán Barú National Park, where you can begin your hike up the volcano.

From the central park in Volcán, look for the local buses (known as 'colectivos') that head towards Boquete. Board the bus and inform the driver that you want to get off at the entrance of Volcán Barú National Park. The ride should take around 30 minutes.
