Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Mount Hagen, head towards the Mount Hagen Market. Once you reach the market, ask locals for the best route toward Wabag as this is the direction of Mandities Point. Following their directions, you will need to walk along the main road (Kumul Highway) leading out of the city. Continue walking until you reach the junction leading towards Wabag. This is a long trek, and you may want to take breaks along the way. It's advisable to start early in the morning to avoid walking in the heat of the day.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start at the center of Mount Hagen and ride towards the Mount Hagen Market. From there, take the Kumul Highway heading towards Wabag. It’s a significant distance, so ensure you are prepared with water and snacks. Look for local signage indicating the way to Wabag. Along the journey, stop at local villages for a rest and to ask for directions if needed.

• Hiking

  For adventurous travelers, take a hiking route from Mount Hagen. Start at the local trails that lead out of Mount Hagen towards the surrounding hills. Follow the trails that lead in the general direction of Wabag. Be sure to have a local guide who knows the area well, as the terrain can be challenging. This route offers scenic views and a unique experience of the local flora and fauna.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  Though this option involves a short walk, take a local bus or public transport from Mount Hagen towards Wabag. Buses usually leave from the main bus station in Mount Hagen. Once you arrive in Wabag, you will still need to walk a short distance to Mandities Point. Ask the bus driver or locals for directions to Mandities Point from the bus stop.
