Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Wabag, head south on the Highlands Highway (H4) towards Mt. Giluwe. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Mt Giluwe Rural LLG. Follow the signs, and take a left onto the road leading into the rural area. Continue for about 10 kilometers, keeping an eye out for local markers indicating the Engual Cultural Centre. The centre is located near the base of Mt. Giluwe.

    From Wabag, take a PMV (public motor vehicle) heading south towards Mt. Giluwe. The fare is usually around 20-30 PGK. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Mt Giluwe Rural LLG turnoff. Once you reach the turnoff, you may need to hire a local vehicle or walk approximately 10 kilometers to reach the Engual Cultural Centre. Be sure to arrange transportation in advance, as local vehicles can be scarce.
