    From Mount Wilhelm, head south on the main road towards Goroka. As you drive, be prepared for a scenic journey, passing through lush landscapes. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, you will reach the town of Goroka. Continue through Goroka and follow signs towards the Highlands Highway. After about 30 minutes on the Highlands Highway, look for a sign indicating Kugeto. Turn off the highway and follow the road signs for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the vicinity of Kuru Mountain, located at coordinates HGJ3+JC.

  • Public Transportation

    From Mount Wilhelm, locate the nearest bus station where you can catch a bus heading towards Goroka. The bus ride will take about 2 hours and will cost approximately 20-30 PGK. Once you arrive in Goroka, transfer to a minibus heading towards Kugeto. The minibus ride should take about 30 minutes and may cost around 10-15 PGK. After getting off in Kugeto, you can ask locals for directions to Kuru Mountain, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the main road. Be sure to check the minibus schedules, as they may vary throughout the day.
