Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from any point in the Allegheny National Forest, head towards US-219 S. Continue on US-219 S for approximately 30 miles until you reach I-80 E. Take I-80 E towards Pittsburgh for about 60 miles. Next, take exit 70A to merge onto I-376 E toward Pittsburgh. Continue on I-376 E for approximately 5 miles, then take exit 1A toward Downtown/Pittsburgh. Follow signs for Commonwealth Place and merge onto Commonwealth Pl. Point State Park will be on your right at 601 Commonwealth Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, first check for a Greyhound or Megabus service to Pittsburgh. Once you arrive in Pittsburgh, you can take the Port Authority bus (Bus 28X Airport Flyer or Bus 1) towards Downtown. Get off at the Liberty Ave + 6th St stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Point State Park. Walk south on Liberty Ave, turn left onto Commonwealth Pl, and the park entrance will be directly ahead.

  • Walking from Downtown Pittsburgh

    If you are already in Downtown Pittsburgh, Point State Park is easily accessible by foot. From Market Square, head southwest on Market St toward 5th Ave. Continue straight onto Liberty Ave. Walk for about 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Commonwealth Pl. The entrance to Point State Park will be on your right at 601 Commonwealth Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
