Car
To reach Point State Park by car from anywhere in Allegheny National Forest, start by finding your way to Route 66 South. Follow Route 66 until you reach the intersection with I-80. Merge onto I-80 East and continue for approximately 30 miles. Take Exit 29 for I-376 South toward Pittsburgh. Continue on I-376 South for around 35 miles until you reach the Fort Pitt Tunnel. After passing through the tunnel, continue straight onto Fort Pitt Bridge, which will lead you into downtown Pittsburgh. Once you're on Liberty Avenue, take a left onto Commonwealth Place. Point State Park will be on your right at 601 Commonwealth Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Parking is available at nearby garages, and fees typically range from $5 to $15 depending on the duration of your stay.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you will need to take a bus from Allegheny National Forest to Pittsburgh. Start by taking the local bus service to the nearest major transit hub, which will likely involve a combination of routes that may take you to a town like Warren or Bradford. From there, use the regional bus services such as the 'Fullington Trailways' or 'Greyhound' to travel to Pittsburgh. Once you arrive at the Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Pittsburgh, you can walk or take the Port Authority’s Light Rail or bus service to Point State Park. The closest stop to the park is the 'Station Square' stop. After getting off, walk across the Smithfield Street Bridge, and follow the signs to Point State Park, which is approximately a 15-minute walk away.
