Walking
If you are in the North Shore area, you can easily walk to Water Steps located on Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Begin your walk by heading towards the riverfront. Depending on your starting point, head south towards the Roberto Clemente Bridge (the yellow bridge). Once you reach the bridge, cross it to reach the other side of the Allegheny River. After crossing, take a left turn onto the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Continue walking along the trail for about 0.5 miles, and you will find Water Steps on your left, with a beautiful view of the river.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those who prefer public transportation, you can take the Port Authority bus service. Locate the nearest bus stop in North Shore, which is typically along North Shore Drive. You can board the '28X Airport Flyer' or '1 - 1st Avenue' bus. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. The fare for a single ride is $2.75 (exact change required). After getting off, walk towards the trail for about 5 minutes, and you will see Water Steps.
Biking
If you rented a bike or have your own, biking is a fantastic way to reach Water Steps. Start from the North Shore Riverwalk and follow the path along the river. The bike path is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the city. It will take you approximately 10 minutes of biking to reach Water Steps. Just ensure to follow the signs for the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, and you'll find it easily.
