    Getting There

    Bus

    From Allentown, head to the Allentown Transportation Center at 325 Hamilton St. Take the LANTA bus #325 towards the Lehigh Valley International Airport. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the stop near the Lehigh Valley International Airport. From there, transfer to the bus #102 towards Jim Thorpe. After about 45 minutes, get off at the Jim Thorpe stop. Walk north on Broadway St and then turn right onto West 2nd St. Continue straight until you reach Lehigh Gorge State Park.

    Train

    Make your way to the Allentown Train Station located at 1st Avenue and Hamilton St. Board the NJ Transit train heading towards New York City. Disembark at the Phillipsburg station. From there, take the NJ Transit bus #872 to the stop in Jim Thorpe. After arriving in Jim Thorpe, walk north on Broadway St and turn right onto West 2nd St. Continue straight until you reach Lehigh Gorge State Park.

    Bicycle

    If you enjoy cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Allentown. Start your ride by heading west on Hamilton St, then follow the bike path towards the D&L Trail. Continue along the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, which will lead you directly toward Jim Thorpe. The ride is approximately 20 miles and will take about 2 hours. Once in Jim Thorpe, follow local signage to reach Lehigh Gorge State Park, which is easily accessible from the town.

    Walking

    If you prefer walking, you can start at the center of Allentown and make your way to the nearest bus stop to catch a bus to Jim Thorpe. However, prepare for a long journey on foot. The distance from Allentown to Jim Thorpe is about 20 miles, which could take approximately 7 hours of continuous walking. Take Hamilton St west until it turns into the Lehigh River Trail, and follow this trail north toward Jim Thorpe. Once you arrive in Jim Thorpe, you can ask locals for directions to Lehigh Gorge State Park.
