    Getting There

    Car

    If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Boone, NC. Head southeast on US-421 S for about 10 miles. Merge onto NC-194 S and continue for approximately 8 miles until you reach the intersection with NC-88 E. Turn left onto NC-88 E and follow it for about 7 miles. You will then see the signs for Mt Jefferson State Natural Area. Follow the signs to the parking area. The parking lot may have a small fee, typically around $5 for the day.

    Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Boone to Jefferson, NC. Use the AppalCart service to reach the nearest bus station. From Boone, take the Route 1 bus towards the ASU campus and transfer to the bus heading to Jefferson. The bus fare will cost around $2. Once you arrive in Jefferson, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Mt Jefferson State Natural Area, which is approximately 6 miles away. Expect to pay around $10-$15 for the taxi ride.
