Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards Interstate 81 or Interstate 76 depending on your location in the Appalachian Mountains. From Interstate 81, merge onto Interstate 76 East. Continue on I-76 until you reach the exit for Interstate 79 North toward Erie. Follow I-79 North until you approach Erie. Take exit 183 for State Route 5 toward Presque Isle State Park. Follow the signs for Presque Isle State Park, and after approximately 10 miles, you will reach the park entrance at 301 Peninsula Dr, Erie, PA 16505. There are no tolls on this route.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus to Erie from various locations in the Appalachian region. Once you arrive at the Erie bus station, you will need to take a local taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Presque Isle State Park. The distance from the bus station to the park is about 5 miles, and the taxi fare is typically around $10 to $15. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance to plan your trip accordingly.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking to Presque Isle State Park is an option. If you're in Erie, you can use local bike paths to reach the park. Head towards the Bayfront Connector, which leads directly to the park. Make sure to wear a helmet and have proper lights if you plan on biking during the evening. Note that the park offers bike rentals during the peak season.
