Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Interstate 70 (I-70) if you are in the eastern part of the Appalachian Mountains. From I-70, take Exit 163 for US-30 W towards Gettysburg. Continue on US-30 W for about 20 miles. This will bring you to the town of Breezewood, where you will merge onto the I-76 W (Pennsylvania Turnpike). Follow I-76 W for approximately 10 miles until you reach Exit 161 for US-220 S toward Bedford. After exiting, follow US-220 S for about 15 miles. Look for signs directing you towards Sideling Hill, and you will arrive at the Sideling Hill area, which is located near the border of Pennsylvania and Maryland. Note that there may be tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, so have some cash or a transponder ready.

  For those adventurous enough to hike, there are trails available that lead up to the Sideling Hill area. If you are already in the region, you can park at designated areas near the base of the mountain.
