From downtown Erie, head east on State Street towards the waterfront. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with East 2nd Street. Turn left onto East 2nd Street and follow it as it curves into the Bayfront Parkway. Keep walking until you reach the trailhead for the Bayfront Connector Trail on your left. Follow the trail along the waterfront for approximately 1 mile until you see signs for Kite Beach. The beach is located just off the trail.

If you have access to a bike, start from the Erie Maritime Museum located at 150 East Front Street. Head east along the Bayfront Connector Trail.
