Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Gettysburg Visitor Center, exit the center and head north on the pedestrian path towards the intersection of Taneytown Road and Baltimore Street. Continue straight on Baltimore Street until it merges into the historic Lincoln Square. From Lincoln Square, take the left onto York Street and walk approximately 0.5 miles. At the intersection with Buford Avenue, turn right. Lee's Headquarters will be on your left at 401 Buford Ave.

From the Gettysburg Visitor Center, rent a bike and head north on the path along Taneytown Road. After about 0.3 miles, turn left onto Baltimore Street. Continue riding straight through Lincoln Square and take a left onto York Street. After approximately 0.5 miles, turn right onto Buford Avenue. Lee's Headquarters will be on your left at 401 Buford Ave.

From the Gettysburg Visitor Center, walk to the nearest bus stop on Baltimore Street. Take the local shuttle service if available, heading towards the battlefield area. Get off at the stop nearest to Buford Avenue. After disembarking, walk along Buford Avenue heading towards the west for about 0.2 miles. Lee's Headquarters will be at 401 Buford Ave on your left.
