Walking
Start from the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center located at 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Exit the center and head southwest on Baltimore Pike for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with Steinwehr Avenue. Turn left onto Steinwehr Avenue and continue for approximately 0.5 miles. You will pass various shops and eateries along the way. Continue straight until you reach the traffic circle. Take the first exit onto Confederate Avenue. Walk along Confederate Avenue for about 1 mile, and you will find the Longstreet Observation Tower on your left at SW Confederate Ave, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Gettysburg. Start at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center at 1195 Baltimore Pike. Head southwest on Baltimore Pike for 0.2 miles and turn left onto Steinwehr Avenue. Continue for 0.5 miles, passing through the traffic circle, and take the first exit onto Confederate Avenue. Follow Confederate Avenue for about 1 mile. The Longstreet Observation Tower will be on your left. Biking is a great way to enjoy the scenic views along the way.
Public Transportation
While Gettysburg doesn't have extensive public transportation, you can use the Gettysburg Bus Tour service, which offers various tours around the battlefield. Check with the bus tour operator if they have a stop near Longstreet Observation Tower. If not, you can walk from the closest drop-off point, which is near the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center. From there, follow the walking directions provided earlier.
