Walking
From the Gettysburg Visitor Center, exit the building and head southeast on Taneytown Road (Route 134) for approximately 0.5 miles. You will pass shops and restaurants. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Baltimore Street. Turn left onto Baltimore Street and continue for about 0.7 miles. You will see the signs for the Gettysburg National Military Park; follow the signs to stay on Baltimore Street. After passing the park entrance, keep your eye out for Waterworks Road on your right. Turn onto Waterworks Road and walk for another 0.5 miles. The Sachs Covered Bridge will be on your left.
Biking
Start at the Gettysburg College campus. Head south on West Lincoln Avenue until you reach Baltimore Street (Route 97). Turn right onto Baltimore Street and continue for about 1 mile. You will reach the intersection with Waterworks Road. Turn left onto Waterworks Road and bike for approximately 0.5 miles. The Sachs Covered Bridge will be on your left-hand side. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all biking rules for safety.
Public Transit
From the Gettysburg Visitor Center, take the Adams County Transit bus service (check the schedule for availability). Board the bus heading towards the Gettysburg National Military Park. Get off at the stop closest to the intersection of Baltimore Street and Waterworks Road. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk; head down Waterworks Road, and you will find the Sachs Covered Bridge on your left.
