Getting There

• Car

  From anywhere in Juniata River Valley, head towards Route 22. If you're in the town of Mifflintown, take Route 322 East. Follow Route 322 East until you reach the intersection with Route 35 South. Take Route 35 South and follow it until you reach Allensville. Once in Allensville, look for Allensville Rd and turn onto it. Follow Allensville Rd for about 3 miles, and you will see signs for the Stone Mountain Hawk Watch Platform. There is no entry fee for the platform itself, but be aware of parking regulations in the area.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options may be limited in the Juniata River Valley. You can take a bus from Mifflintown to Lewistown and then arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service from Lewistown to Allensville. The taxi ride will be approximately 20 minutes and may cost around $25-$30. Once you arrive in Allensville, ask for directions to Allensville Rd, where you can either walk or take another taxi to the Stone Mountain Hawk Watch Platform.

• Bicycle

  For a more adventurous route, consider biking to Stone Mountain Hawk Watch Platform. Start from Mifflintown and follow Route 322 East to Route 35 South. The distance is about 15 miles, and the route is mostly flat but can be busy with traffic, so ride carefully. Once you reach Allensville, turn onto Allensville Rd, and follow it for about 3 miles to the platform. Make sure to wear a helmet and be prepared with water and snacks for the trip.
