Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the center of Juniata River Valley, head northwest on US-22 W. Continue for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with PA-305 W. Turn left onto PA-305 W and follow it for approximately 5 miles. Then, turn right onto Unnamed Road, which leads directly into the Stone Valley Recreation Area. Look for the parking area on your right.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take the local bus service from Juniata River Valley to the nearest town with bus connections, which is Huntingdon. From there, you can catch a regional bus towards Petersburg. Once you arrive in Petersburg, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 4 miles to the Stone Valley Recreation Area, as it is not directly accessible via public transport.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can bike from Juniata River Valley to Stone Valley Recreation Area. Follow the same route as cars, taking US-22 W to PA-305 W. The journey is approximately 15 miles and features scenic views along the way. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws.

• Walking

  If you are adventurous and in good shape, you can walk to the Stone Valley Recreation Area. Start from the center of Juniata River Valley and follow the route outlined for cars. This is a long walk (approximately 15 miles) and should only be attempted by those who are physically fit and prepared for a hike.
