Walking
If you are coming from Independence Hall, head south on 5th Street towards Chestnut Street. Turn left onto Chestnut Street and walk east until you reach 3rd Street. Turn right onto 3rd Street and continue walking. Powel House will be on your left at 244 S 3rd St. The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes.
Public Transit (SEPTA)
From City Hall, take the Market-Frankford Line (Blue Line) towards 69th Street Terminal. Get off at the 2nd Street Station. Exit the station and walk south on 2nd Street. Turn left onto Walnut Street and then right onto 3rd Street. Powel House will be on your right at 244 S 3rd St. The total travel time is around 20 minutes, including walking.
Walking from Reading Terminal Market
Exit Reading Terminal Market and head southeast on 12th Street towards Arch Street. Turn left onto Arch Street and walk east until you reach 3rd Street. Turn right onto 3rd Street and continue walking. Powel House will be on your left at 244 S 3rd St. This route takes about 20 minutes.
Walking from the Liberty Bell
From the Liberty Bell Center, walk south on 6th Street. Turn left onto Walnut Street and walk east until you reach 3rd Street. Turn right onto 3rd Street. Powel House will be on your left at 244 S 3rd St. This walk will take approximately 10 minutes.
