Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car from Cusco, start by heading northeast on Avenida de la Cultura. After approximately 2 km, turn right onto Avenida Tullumayo. Continue straight for about 1.5 km, then turn left onto Avenida Pardo. Follow this road for about 1 km until you reach the junction with Avenida Huayruropata. Turn right and follow the signs to Saqsaywaman. The parking lot is located just outside the entrance to the site, and there is an entry fee of around 70 soles per person.

You can easily hire a taxi from Cusco city center to Saqsaywaman. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes and should cost around 15-25 soles. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi can drop you off at the entrance of the archaeological site.

Public Transportation
To reach Saqsaywaman via public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi (known as 'colectivo') from Cusco. Head to the bus terminal near Plaza de Armas and look for buses heading to Saqsaywaman. The fare is usually around 5-10 soles. The bus will drop you off near the entrance where you will need to pay the entrance fee of approximately 70 soles. The total travel time is about 30 minutes.

If you are feeling adventurous and would like to walk from Cusco to Saqsaywaman, it is approximately a 2.5 km hike uphill from the city center. Start from Plaza de Armas and head north on Avenida de la Cultura. The walk will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour, and you will enjoy beautiful views of the city along the way.
