    Car

    If you are driving to Humantay Lake, start from the city of Abancay, the capital of Apurímac. Head northwest on the road towards the town of Curahuasi. After about 1 hour, you will reach Curahuasi. From there, continue on the road to the town of Limatambo, which will take approximately another 30 minutes. Once in Limatambo, follow the signs to Soray. The last stretch will take you to a parking area near the trailhead to Humantay Lake. Be prepared for unpaved roads and allow about 30 minutes for this section. Note that there is usually a parking fee of around 10 soles.

    Public Transportation

    To reach Humantay Lake using public transport, start by taking a bus from Abancay to Curahuasi. Buses run frequently and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Curahuasi, find a bus heading to Limatambo. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive in Limatambo. From Limatambo, you can hire a taxi or join a tour group to take you to Soray, the last stop before the hike to Humantay Lake. The taxi fare may vary but expect to pay around 30-50 soles. Once you reach the Soray parking area, you will need to hike approximately 1.5 hours to reach the lake.
