Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the city center of Arequipa, head to the main bus terminal located at Av. Peru. You can take any bus with a sign indicating 'Cayma' or 'Carmen Alto.' Ensure you ask the driver if they stop at Carmen Alto viewpoint. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the viewpoint, which is near the intersection of Av. Cayma and Cusco Street. From there, you can walk up the remaining distance to the Carmen Alto viewpoint, which is roughly a 10-minute walk uphill.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing app like Uber. Simply enter 'Carmen Alto viewpoint' or the address 'Cusco 178, Cayma 04000' in the app. The driver will take you directly to the viewpoint. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes from the city center depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, you can start from the main square, Plaza de Armas. Head north on Calle Santa Catalina until you reach Av. Ejercito. Turn right and walk along Av. Ejercito until you reach Av. Cayma. You will then turn left onto Av. Cayma. Continue walking until you reach Cusco Street. The viewpoint is a short distance from here, approximately a 30-40 minute walk, depending on your pace. Be prepared for some uphill walking as you approach the viewpoint.
