Highly recommended tour! I was lucky to be among the first ones to take it, since it was recently created. First you get a chance to see Colca canyon from different view points, then a guide takes you for a hike in the mountains nearby to see geysers and fumarolas. The place is beautiful and is totally worth visiting! After having lunch in a beautiful restaurant with amazing views of Colca canyon, you get dropped to a nice accommodation in Cabanaconde village and the next morning you you get a chance to enjoy thermal baths before returning back to Arequipa.

So you want to climb Chachani. Chachani is a climb around 5km (10km round) with 1200m vertical climb. I competed the climb in a single day after having 3 weeks of acclimation above 3000m altitude. I booked with Peru Ultimate Expedition after plenty of research. They were very responsive on WhatsApp and were able to answer plenty of questions about the hike and gear requirements. The booking process was very easy and professional. My guide Harly, contacted me and arranged a pre-briefing at my hotel, where my gear was inspected. I was able to hire boots and poles for the climb. The pickup from Arequipa was at midnight with a 2.5hr drive to the trail head. The driver Hugo was awesome and very competent navigating a rough 4WD track to the carpark. We stepped off around 2.35am and completed the climb at 10am. Harly was an outstanding guide and he was always monitoring how I was going and regulating the pace and navigating (as well as having a good chat). I never felt unsafe and his steady guidance made the climb much easier. Overall, the entire experience was awesome and I would have no hesitation in recommending Harly and Peru Ultimate Expediton if you are considering Climbing Chachani.

Sillar Route In Arequipa + Viewpoint of the Volcanoes

Very interesting and diverse afternoon

Overall it was well run and covered a lot of ground in a short period. It was a very interesting day. I was a bit unsure of where to go at the first spot but I saw enough and at the Sillar statues, it is worth telling people there is a circuit and how far they walk each way on both sides of the valley and there is a path on the valley side around an area for which there is extra pay required and to give an idea of how long it would take to do the circuit. There was enough time but how long each way would be good. Also they can pick you up along the return route if necessary. After the sillar valley, the walk in the valley was a little more difficult than I had expected with some dry deeper holes. However, we would see old Inka or older rock carvings towards the end.
