If you are located in the Historic Centre of Arequipa, the best way to reach Plaza de Armas is by walking. From the Plaza de San Francisco, head south on Calle San Francisco towards Avenida de la República. Take a left onto Avenida de la República and continue straight for about 5 minutes until you reach Plaza de Armas. The plaza will be on your right. Enjoy the views of the stunning colonial architecture and the impressive cathedral as you approach.

Although walking is the preferred method in the Historic Centre, you can also take a local bus if you're coming from a bit farther away. Head to the nearest bus stop on Avenida de la República and look for buses labeled 'Centro' or 'Plaza de Armas.' The fare is approximately 1-2 soles. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you want to get off at Plaza de Armas. The journey should take around 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
