    Car

    To reach Colca Canyon by car, you will need to drive south from Arequipa on the Pan-American Highway. After approximately 4 hours of driving, you will reach Chivay, the main town near Colca Canyon. From Chivay, follow the signs towards the canyon, driving for another 1-2 hours on a well-maintained road. Be cautious of steep cliffs and narrow roads along the way.

    Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, you can take a bus from Arequipa to Chivay. Buses depart regularly from Arequipa's main bus terminal. Once in Chivay, you can hire a taxi or join a guided tour to reach Colca Canyon. Alternatively, you can take a local bus from Chivay to Cabanaconde, a small town located at the edge of the canyon. From Cabanaconde, you can hike down into the canyon or arrange for a mule ride.
