If you are driving from Chivay, head southeast on the main road (Route 30A) toward the Colca Canyon. Continue for approximately 18 kilometers (about 30 minutes). Watch for signs pointing to Huambo, as you will need to turn onto the road leading to the village. After entering the village of Huambo, follow the local road signs for 'Mirador de Cactus'. The final stretch is about 5 kilometers of unpaved road. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to rough terrain. Parking is available near the viewpoint.

From Chivay, take a local bus headed to Huambo. Buses leave regularly from the main bus terminal and the fare is approximately 10 PEN (Peruvian Soles). The journey takes around 1 hour. Once in Huambo, you may need to hire a taxi or use a local mototaxi to reach Mirador de Cactus, which is about 5 kilometers away. Taxi fares are typically around 15-20 PEN for this short trip. Make sure to negotiate the fare before getting in.
