Getting There

• Walking

  From the main square (Plaza Mayor) in Ayacucho, head south on Avenida 28 de Julio towards the intersection with Calle San Juan. Turn left onto Calle San Juan and continue until you reach the bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre de Ayacucho). Here, you will need to take a bus heading towards Cangallo. The bus ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Cangallo, ask locals for directions to Catarata Pumapaqcha, as it is a well-known site. From the town center, you can either walk or hire a local guide to take you to the waterfall, which is about a 30-minute walk from the town.

  Starting from Ayacucho, walk to the main bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre de Ayacucho). Look for buses that are labeled for Cangallo; they usually leave frequently throughout the day. The ticket should cost around 10-15 soles. Once you arrive in Cangallo, locate a local guide or ask for directions to Catarata Pumapaqcha. It is advisable to arrange for a local guide, as they can provide insights and ensure you arrive safely at the waterfall. The walk from Cangallo to the waterfall takes about 30 minutes.
