Walking
From the main square (Plaza de Armas) in Ayacucho, head southeast towards Avenida Independencia. Walk down Avenida Independencia for about 5 blocks until you reach the intersection with Calle 28 de Julio. Turn left onto Calle 28 de Julio and continue walking for about 3 blocks. You should see a park on your right called Parque de la Revolución. Continue straight, and after passing the park, take a right onto Calle Velarde. Casona Velarde Álvarez will be located towards the end of this street on your left.

From the Plaza de Armas, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Avenida Independencia. Look for a bus or minivan heading towards 'Cercado de Ayacucho'. Board the bus and ask the driver to drop you off near Calle Velarde. Once you get off, walk a few steps towards Calle Velarde, turn left, and walk straight until you reach Casona Velarde Álvarez.
