Car
If you are driving from the Cusco Airport (Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport), take Av. Jorge Chávez and then merge onto Av. Velasco Astete. Continue on this road for about 5 km. Follow signs for Centro Histórico. Once you reach the city center, look for parking options nearby as street parking can be limited. Koricancha is located at the intersection of Avenida de la Cultura and Avenida El Sol.
Public Transportation - Bus
From the main bus terminal in Cusco, you can take a local bus heading towards Centro Histórico. Look for buses labeled 'Centro' or 'Plaza de Armas'. The fare is usually around 1.50 PEN (Peruvian Soles). Get off at the Plaza de Armas stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Koricancha. Head down Avenida El Sol and turn left onto Calle Gualberto Pérez, which will lead you directly to Koricancha.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Cusco. You can hail one on the street or use a ride-hailing app. The fare from the airport to Koricancha is typically around 15-25 PEN, depending on traffic. If you are coming from the city center, a taxi will cost about 5-10 PEN. Ensure the driver knows you want to go to 'Koricancha' to avoid any confusion.
Walking
If you are staying in the Centro Histórico area, walking to Koricancha is a pleasant option. It's approximately a 15-minute walk from Plaza de Armas. Head east on Avenida El Sol, and you will find Koricancha on your left. The walk is scenic and allows you to explore shops and cafes along the way.
