Start at Plaza de Armas in Cusco. Look for the colectivo (shared taxi) stands near the main square. Take a colectivo heading towards Pisaq. Make sure to ask the driver if they will drop you off at km 22. The journey will take about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach km 22, request the driver to drop you off at the Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary is located a short walk from the main road.

If you prefer to walk after taking a colectivo to km 22, head towards the entrance of the sanctuary which is well-marked. The path is straightforward and you will see signs for Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary along the way. It's approximately a 15-minute walk from the drop-off point.

From Plaza de Armas, you can also hire a taxi. Negotiate the fare before getting in, as taxis do not have meters. The taxi will take you directly to the sanctuary, which is located at km 22 via Cusco - Pisaq. This option is more comfortable, and the trip should take around 30 minutes.
