Walking
From the main square, Plaza de Armas, head southwest on Calle del Medio. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida El Sol. Turn left onto Avenida El Sol and walk for about 10 minutes. You will pass by various shops and cafes. After you reach the end of Avenida El Sol, take a right onto Calle 7 Cuartones. Follow this street until you reach the bus station for Machupicchu. The bus station is well marked, and you can buy tickets here to take you to Machupicchu.
Bus
From Plaza de Armas, take a local bus from the ‘Plaza de la Cultura’ bus stop towards Aguas Calientes. Buses run frequently, and it’s advisable to ask locals for the right bus number to ensure you’re heading in the right direction. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Aguas Calientes, follow the signs to the Machupicchu bus station to take your shuttle up to the site.
Train
From the Plaza de Armas, walk to the train station located at Avenida Ferrocarril. You can ask locals for directions if needed. The walk takes approximately 15 minutes. At the train station, purchase a ticket for the train to Aguas Calientes. The train ride offers beautiful views and takes around 3.5 hours. Once you arrive in Aguas Calientes, take the shuttle bus to Machupicchu.
