From the center of Huánuco, head southwest on Avenida Huánuco. Continue on this road, which will eventually turn into Avenida Universitaria. Follow it straight for approximately 3 kilometers. As you approach the intersection with 3N 12, keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Kotosh. Turn right onto 3N 12, where you will see signs indicating the direction to Kotosh. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the historical site of Kotosh. Parking is available nearby.

To reach Kotosh using public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Huánuco. Look for minibuses headed towards Kotosh or the surrounding area; they are usually marked with a sign on the windshield. The fare is approximately 2-3 soles. The journey will take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach Kotosh. The minibus will drop you off near the entrance, and from there, it is a short walk to the historical site.
