Car
If you are driving, head towards the town of Soray. From the main road (Route 3S), take the exit toward Soray. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive in Soray. Park your car in a designated area in the town. The trailhead for Humantay Lake, which leads to the Inca shrine, is located nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Soray using public transportation, start from Cusco. Take a bus or van from the Cusco bus terminal to Mollepata (approximately 2 hours). From Mollepata, you can find local transport services (usually shared taxis) that will take you to Soray (around 30 minutes). Once in Soray, you can walk to the trailhead for Humantay Lake. Note that you may need to pay a small fee for the transport services and an entrance fee for the trek.
Hiking
From the trailhead near Soray, begin your hike towards Humantay Lake, which will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the clearly marked path, which is well-trodden. The hike includes some steep sections, so be prepared with proper footwear and water. As you approach the lake, you will encounter stunning views and the Inca shrine situated nearby.
