Public Transportation
From the town of Aguas Calientes, which is the nearest town to Machu Picchu, take a bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu. Buses run frequently from Aguas Calientes to the entrance, and the journey takes about 25 minutes. The cost of the bus ticket is approximately 12 USD one way. Once you arrive at the entrance, go through the ticket check.
Walking
After entering Machu Picchu, follow the main path towards the Sacred Rock. The Sacred Rock is located near the main plaza and is easily identifiable due to its large size and unique shape. The walk from the entrance to the Sacred Rock will take about 10-15 minutes, and there are signs to guide you along the way.
Guided Tour
Consider joining a guided tour that includes a visit to the Sacred Rock. Many tours start from Aguas Calientes and will take care of the bus tickets and entrance fees. Prices for guided tours vary, generally ranging from 50 to 100 USD, depending on the inclusions and duration of the tour.
