Train
From Cusco, take a train to Aguas Calientes. Companies such as PeruRail and Inca Rail operate daily services from Poroy Station (near Cusco) to Aguas Calientes. The journey takes about 3.5 to 4 hours. Ensure you book your tickets in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons. Once you arrive at Aguas Calientes, the train station is a short walk from the town center.
Hike
From Aguas Calientes, the trail to Machu Picchu Peak starts near the entrance of Machu Picchu. You will need to purchase an entrance ticket to Machu Picchu, which costs around $50-$70 USD depending on the season and availability. The hike to Machu Picchu Peak is steep and challenging, taking approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top. Be sure to carry enough water and snacks for the hike.
Bus
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu entrance. Buses run frequently from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM and take about 30 minutes.
