Car
If you are driving, start from central Lambayeque and head towards Chiclayo via Avenida José Balta. Follow the signs to Chiclayo, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. Once you enter Chiclayo, continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida Saenz Peña. Turn right here, and you will see the Main Square of Chiclayo (Plaza de Armas) on your left. There is typically street parking available near the square, but be cautious of parking regulations.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach the Main Square of Chiclayo by bus, locate a nearby bus stop in Lambayeque. Buses heading towards Chiclayo are frequent and cost around 2 to 3 soles (approximately $0.50 to $0.75). Board a bus marked 'Chiclayo' and enjoy the 30-minute ride. Once you arrive at the main bus terminal in Chiclayo, exit the terminal and walk towards Avenida Saenz Peña. The Main Square of Chiclayo is just a short 10-minute walk straight down the avenue. You will notice the square on your left.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Lambayeque to Chiclayo. Taxis usually charge between 30 to 50 soles (approximately $8 to $14) for this trip. Make sure to agree on the fare before departure. The drive takes around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Tell the driver to take you to Plaza de Armas in Chiclayo, and they will drop you off directly at the Main Square.
