Car
From Lares town, head east on the main road towards Huaran. Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach a fork. Take the left fork towards the Cuncani community. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach a parking area where you can leave your car. From the parking area, you will need to hike for about 1 hour through the scenic paths that lead to Lagunas Cuncanicocha.

Public Transportation
Start by taking a local bus or colectivo (shared taxi) from Lares to Huaran. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes. Once in Huaran, you will need to transfer to another colectivo heading towards Cuncani. Inform the driver that you are headed to Cuncani; the fare is typically around 5-10 soles. After arriving in Cuncani, you will need to hike for approximately 1 hour to reach Lagunas Cuncanicocha.

Hiking
If you are already hiking the Lares Trek, you can follow the established trail from your last camping location. The trail will lead you towards Cuncani, with clear signs pointing towards Lagunas Cuncanicocha. This part of the trek is challenging but rewarding, with beautiful landscapes along the way. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the hike.
