From Pasco, head south on the Carretera Central (Central Highway) towards Abancay. Continue for approximately 6 hours until you reach the junction for the road to Cachora. Take the exit towards Cachora and follow the signs for approximately 30 kilometers to reach the town of Cachora. Here, you can park your car. The parking fee may vary, so be sure to check with local authorities.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Pasco to Abancay. Buses leave frequently from the main terminal. The journey takes around 6 hours and costs approximately 30-40 PEN. Once in Abancay, transfer to a local bus or taxi to Cachora, which is about 30 kilometers away. The cost for this leg is around 10-15 PEN. In Cachora, you can arrange for a guide and transport to the archaeological park.
Hiking
From Cachora, the hike to Choquequirao takes about 2-3 days. The trek is roughly 30 kilometers one way, and you will need to prepare for steep ascents and descents. It is advisable to hire a local guide who is familiar with the route. Costs for a guide can range from 100-200 PEN per day, depending on the services provided.
