Car
To reach Lima Main Square from Pasco by car, start by getting onto the Carretera Central (Central Highway). This route will take you through the scenic Andean mountains. Drive for approximately 250 kilometers (about 5-6 hours). Once you reach Lima, follow the signs for the city center. As you approach the downtown area, look for signs directing you to Plaza de Armas. You can park in one of the public parking lots nearby, but expect to pay around 5-10 PEN (Peruvian Soles) per hour.
Bus
Take a long-distance bus from Pasco to Lima. Major bus companies such as Movil Tours or Cruz del Sur operate daily services. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours. Once you arrive at the Lima bus terminal (for example, Terminal Terrestre Plaza Norte), you can take a taxi or public transportation to Plaza de Armas. A taxi from the terminal to the square will cost around 20-30 PEN, while public transportation (such as a bus or the Metropolitano system) will cost about 2 PEN. Follow the signs for the Metropolitano station and board a bus towards 'Estación Central' which is closest to Plaza de Armas.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route from the bus terminal in Lima to Plaza de Armas, you can use a local taxi or a rideshare app like Uber. The fare from the terminal to the square will be about 20-30 PEN. Ensure that the taxi is officially registered or use a reputable rideshare service for safety. Local Transport
Once you are in Lima, if you are using public transportation, you can take the Metropolitano bus system. The nearest station to Plaza de Armas is 'Estación Central'. From there, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to the square. You will need a rechargeable card to use the Metropolitano, which can be purchased for about 5 PEN, plus additional fare for each trip (approximately 2 PEN).
