Car
From Pasco, take the Carretera Central (Central Highway) towards Huancayo. Continue for approximately 150 kilometers until you reach the town of San Ramón. From there, follow the signs to Cusco, which is about 400 kilometers away. Once you arrive in Cusco, follow local signs to Saqsaywaman, which is located about 2 kilometers from the city center. There is a parking area near the entrance. Note that you may have to pay a parking fee, typically around 5-10 soles.
Public Transportation
From Pasco, take a bus from the Terminal Terrestre Pasco to Cusco. The journey takes about 6-8 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Buses run frequently throughout the day, with prices typically ranging from 40-70 soles. Once you arrive at the Cusco bus terminal, you can take a taxi to Saqsaywaman, which should cost around 10-15 soles. Alternatively, you can take a local bus or walk about 30 minutes to reach the site.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route from Cusco city center to Saqsaywaman, you can take a taxi. Taxis are widely available and the ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Expect to pay around 10-15 soles for this trip. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are already in the Cusco city center, you can walk to Saqsaywaman. The distance is approximately 2 kilometers. Head north from Plaza de Armas, following Avenida de la Cultura. You will start to see signs directing you to Saqsaywaman. The walk will take about 30-40 minutes, offering you the chance to enjoy the scenic views of Cusco.
