Public Transportation
From Puno city, you can take a minibus or a shared taxi to Llachon. Departures usually leave from the main bus terminal in Puno, located on Avenida Simón Bolívar. The journey to Llachon takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs around 10-15 PEN (Peruvian Soles). Make sure to confirm that the driver knows you're going to Llachon.
Walking
Once you arrive in Llachon, you will need to walk to the lakeshore where you can find boats to Isla de Juncos de los UROS. The walk from the bus drop-off point to the lake takes about 10-15 minutes. Look for signs or ask locals for directions to the pier.
Boat Transfer
At the lakeshore, you can hire a local boat to Isla de Juncos de los UROS. The boat ride typically costs around 20-30 PEN per person and takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the island. Ensure you agree on the price beforehand and confirm the return time with the boatman.
Car Rental
If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car in Puno. Take the road towards Llachon, which is well-marked. The drive takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Llachon, park your car at a designated area (check for any parking fees) and follow the walking instructions to reach the lakeshore for the boat transfer to Isla de Juncos.
